Finally the earthquake repairs are completed on my house

Carpet went down on Thursday and all the rest of my stuff turned up yesterday, so I have one room stuffed with boxes and another where I am trying to fit everything into tidily. Its going to involve having a garage sale and dumping a whole heap of stuff I suspect, and long overdue.

Here is what the lounge/kitchen looked like BEFORE the renovations –

And AFTER with new paint job in the lounge and new carpet and the sexy new sofa I got for an awesome price on TradeMe!

This is the second bedroom – had been painted for a young girl by the previous owners – yes that is lime green trim with purple walls and puke coloured carpet! Oh did I forget the green curtains!

And NOW with lovely carpet and apricot walls and white trim. No curtains yet as I haven’t bought new ones, but there will be new ones.

Taking photos inside a house is hard to get the right scale etc. Lightroom has some basic tools to counteract the curvature of the lens but I dont quite understand how to best tweak the perspectives and angles correctly.

You mean you didn’t want to keep the lavender/green/puke brown theme? lol
Love your new sofa – looks very comfy.
Have fun getting reorganised into your home.

The new sofa is very comfy, the cat has already staked out his corner 🙂

I forgot to mention the puke carpet also smelt of dog from the previous owner as well 😦

Purple walls with lime trim? That’s even worse than the horrible bedroom colors that the previous owner of my father’s house chose. Your new colors look ever so much better.

Thankyou, I worked hard at picking the colours, I like colour but the fashion is for muted neutral tones. Once I unpack my boxes and tidy up the place I will take better photos of all the rooms including my lovely shiny bathroom (its white and purple!)

Love to hear your thoughts on my post!
