Weekly Photo Challenge: Reflections

Dragonback Sunset

Dragonback Sunset

Reflections. This challenge is about using reflections in the composition of a shot. Reflections are all around us, whether they’re in a window, a puddle, a mirror, or another surface. They can dramatically affect the feeling and mood of a shot by creating a surreal sense of duality.

Apologies, I have had a bit of an attack of life lately and been somewhat busy, so I am coming late to this challenge.  I took this sunset image in April 2010, with the sun setting and the tide out in the estuary.  This particular composition reminded me of the humps and bumps of a dragons back while he was lying down.  I see shoulders with a fold of wing coming down (covered in tiny houses) rising to the back with the legs folded underneath.

The shape looks much clearer and more real in the reflection I think!
