My First Selfie

Inspired by a fellow Awake student who does interesting portraits with himself as the model, I decided to try and shoot myself.  Without a remote its a LOT harder to do than expected.

Also my hair is not long enough for the effect I was after either.  So in frustration I draped a piece of muslin over my head and carried on.  This was the best image.

Its called  This Is The Ghost Of Me.

Do you shoot yourself by yourself?  How do you manage it?

  1. Great photo, I generally avoid taking my own photo, although I appear in quite a few selfies my kids have created. 🙂

Perfect, Oh, lady of seven veils! I am a much more uglier creature but I have managed to shoot myself in a mirror successfully with a 50 mm f/1.8 lens.

How fun! And I just started taking selfies this year – my youngest son seems to have extra long arms and I think this gives him an edge – and of course there is the selfie stick that might have options – but last year my favorite selfies were ones in reflections of cars and Windows – a few that I really treasure – 😎

  4. A great selfie – the sort I appreciate. I have this app on my phone which irons out the wrinkles, thins the face down, brightens up the eyes, add lipstick and change the colour of my hair – much easier than photoshop.

Love to hear your thoughts on my post!
